Southwest Petroleum University

Founded in 1958, Southwest Petroleum University (SWPU) is co-built by central and local governments and is administered mainly by Sichuan Provincial Government. It is the second petroleum university since the establishment of P.R. China. In 2013, SWPU was selected into the “National Central and Western Universities Basic Capacity Construction Project” and became one of the 100 universities in the project. Petroleum and natural gas engineering has been selected as the national first-class discipline for two consecutive rounds, and has been rated as A+ discipline in the national discipline assessment. Now it has formed the discipline development pattern of “co-developing oil and gas, with gas being featured”, making the broadest discipline coverage and the most complete research directions across China and even around the world. Engineering, chemistry, materials science and geo-science are among the top 1% of ESI in the world.

Qualifications

1. Applicants should be a non Chinese citizen with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health.

2. Bachelor applicants should hold a high school diploma, under age of 25; Master applicants should hold a bachelor's degree, under age of 35; Doctoral applicants should hold a master's degree, under age of 35.

3. Applicant whose mother tongue or official language is not English, or those who didnt study under English as the instruction medium should have IELTS6 or above, or TOFEL 80 or above, or other English proficiency certificate.
