About OUC
Ocean University of China (OUC) is a comprehensive university with particular strengths in oceanography and fisheries science. We have four campuses. In 2017 OUC was included in China’s plan of building “Double First-Rate” universities, having previously also been on the list of “Project 985” universities (a list of China’s top 40 universities) and “Project 211” institutions (of China’s top 100 universities). It is now the recipient of significant national and provincial support and funding, which supports its bid to become a world class university.
The university is proud to be the cradle of China’s marine professionals and it counts a large number of China’s marine science specialists among its alumni. 70% of China’s PhD holders in oceanography and fisheries graduated from OUC; in addition, the first scientist to reach the South Pole, the first Chinese scientist to investigate the South Pole on foot, and the first Chinese scientist to reach both the North and South Poles all graduated from OUC. Currently, OUC has over 27800 full-time students, including more than 15900 undergraduates, 9100 postgraduates and 2010 doctoral students. The university have more than 1000 international students from over 80 countries in the world.

Qualification
1.Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports and be in good health, and have good behaviors.
2.Applicants for undergraduate programs must provide a high school diploma or equivalent, age 16-50; Applicants for postgraduate programs must complete their undergraduate studies and obtain a bachelor degree or equivalent, age 18-50.
3.English-taught programs applicants need to submit English proficiency certificate TOEFL or IELTS (English native speakers are exempted).
Application Materials
1.Scan of original highest education diploma or original notarized diploma in English or Chinese. Scan of pre-graduation certificate is required if the applicants have not gained certificate.
2.Scan of notarized copy of transcripts in English or Chinese.
3.Photocopy of passport within the validity period.
4.English language proficiency for those whose native language is not English, IELTS over 5.5 scores/TOEFL over 80 scores.

6.CV.
7.Foreigner physical examination report.
8.Non criminal record certificate.
9.Bank statement.
10.Two recommendation letters in Chinese or English by professor or associate professor for postgraduate applicant.
11.Study plan or personal statement in English or Chinese for postgraduate applicant.
12.Other supporting documents: paper published, volunteering certificates, etc. If any.
