Southern Medical University

Established in 1951, Southern Medical University (SMU), a national key university (1979), was originally the First Military Medical University, PLA. In August 2004, it was handed over to the local government of Guangdong Province and renamed as Southern Medical University. It is the only Provincial Prospective High-Level Medical Universities and the first Ministry-Province Co-constructed Medical University. SMU is one of the first 8 prestigious universities to run the pilot 8-year medical education program. It is also the first universities to pilot the program of education and cultivation of outstanding doctors in China. The University has 21 schools with an enrollment of 22,804 degree candidates, including 7,692 postgraduates, 14,100 undergraduates and 1,012 international students. It has 13 affiliated hospitals with 13,000 hospital beds in total.

1.Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, in good physical and mental health, age 18-30, abide by the laws and regulations of China. 

2. Undergraduate applicant should hold a high school diploma. 

3. English-taught programs applicants need to submit English proficiency certificate.
