One Belt One Road Football Tournament

In order to enrich the life of our students and deepen their understanding of Chinese culture and their recognition of One Belt One Road Initiative,  a footballing spectacle, one that brings together the best African players in Shenyang, was held in Shenyang Aerospace University on June 23, 2017. The tournament which fans had eagerly anticipated had the participants from 9 African countries, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Cameroon, Zambia, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Somalia, Zimbabwe and Ghana.
         A lot of good quality football was shown throughout the tournament with great goals and incredible saves. Going into the tournament as favorites to win the title for a third consecutive time was the Nigerian team that was unbeaten throughout the tournament. Nigeria beat Tanzania on penalties, while Ghana scored two goals against Cameroon in the semi-finals. The two teams went head to head in an intense battle for the title, with Ghana going into the game without conceding a goal throughout the tournament.
        The match finished 1-0 in favour of Ghana. Tanzania settled for 3rd place. Though the competition, the international students from One Belt One Road countries not only had the technical competition, but also experienced the cultural exchange. And at last, the trophy and medals were given to the winners by David Xu, head of Student Administration Office, IEC.
