Renmin University of China is the first comprehensive research university established by the People’s Republic of China. Its predecessor was Shanbei Public School, founded in 1937. Many Chinese heads of state have paid close attention to RUC’s development. Each has visited RUC’s campus and delivered speeches or written inscriptions for the university. 1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid ordinary passport.

2. Applicants should have a full-time high school diploma or higher education level, and are eligible to apply for university.

3. Applicants should be physically and mentally healthy, not have criminal record.

4. Applicants should submit TOEFL or IELTSscore reports that are within two years of validity. However, it is not necessary to include these language test scores if the applicant's native language is English or if they have completed at least three years of study at a school or university where the medium of instruction was English at the time of application submission.
