The LL.M. Program in Chinese Business Law requires the students to complete two-semester course study for 30 credits. The fall semester will be from August to December, and the spring semester from February to June. After completing the course study, the students need to submit a dissertation and pass the oral defense within two years since the enrollment in order to receive the degree. The students may complete the dissertation at Fudan, or at any other places as long as they return for the oral defense. The students who have successfully completed one or two semesters’ course work but decide not to write the dissertation will receive a certificate.
Each LL.M. student will be assigned an academic mentor/advisor for study and dissertation writing, and a Chinese student will be introduced to be their “buddy” to help them familiarize with the life in Shanghai. In addition, the School of Law will arrange regular academic and non-academic activities for both the foreign students and Chinese students so that they may communicate with and learn from each other.
Credits earned in the LL.M. Program by students from a foreign partner law school under an exchange agreement with Fudan University School of Law are transferable according to the agreement and the home school’s policy.
If you are a non-Chinese citizen, have received a first college degree, and have good command of English, you are eligible to apply. LL.M. degree will be granted to the candidates who have successfully completed the required course work, and fulfilled the requirements for a dissertation.

Tuition and Other Cost
The tuition fee for the program is RMB 160,000 yuan, with 80,000 yuan to be paid in the beginning of each semester. The application processing fee is USD 135 and is non-refundable.
During the 2-semester residency period, students may be housed in the on-campus dormitory rooms for international students or off-campus rental houses. Students may have meals at the various canteens/cafeterias on campus or other off-campus restaurants which offer delicious food at a reasonable price. Students will cover their own housing, meal, health insurance, and transportation costs and will be responsible for the cost of textbooks for the program.
Financial Aids and Scholarship
Fudan University School of Law provides both financial aids and Fudan Law Scholarship (FLS) to the students of the LLM Program in Chinese Business Law. The financial aids will be granted to students on the need basis. Students may submit application after registration. The FLS will be granted to students on the merit basis. All the students who have passed the final exam of the first semester are eligible to apply for the FLS.
