Ⅸ Characteristics of the Major
The program aims to train high-level prfessionals, which features backgrounds such as textile machinery, agricultural machinery, and fluid machinery. These are in line with the regional development of textile machinery and mold & die industries, and the requirement for an advanced manufacturing base in Zhejiang Province, combined with the academic advantage of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, the program has been structured to cultivate students in four fields: Design of mold & die, Digital Manufacturing, Textile Machinery and Design Technology, with emphasis on problem-solving abilities in engineering through large quantities of inside and outside the class.
1．Category-based training and student recruitment
Mechanical category includes mechanical design manufacture and automation, mechatronic engineering, process equipment & control engineering, material forming & control engineering and industrial engineering. The above 5 majors share the same teaching plan for the first three semesters. At the end of the third semester, students choose specific majors and then follow the teaching plan of chosen majors from the beginning of the 4th semester.
2. Major orientations
This major is based on preponderant disciplines at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, combined with regional economy and production practice of textile machinery, mold& die design, Digital Manufacturing and design technologies in Zhejiang province. It is aimed to cultivate advanced application-orientated technical talents with innovative capabilities to meet the need of Zhejiang provincial textile industry, mold&die manufacture industry and mechanical related industries. There are four major orientations: mold& die design, textile machinery, digital manufacturing and design technologies. The teaching goals are to deepen fundamental theory and basic knowledge, broaden knowledge boundaries, and cultivate the major technical capability and major special ability. After the confirmation of major direction, students are required to achieve 6 credits of chosen direction.
