About BNU
Beijing Normal University (BNU) grew out of the Education Department of Imperial University of Peking established in 1902, which initiated teacher training in China’s higher education. After the development for over a century, BNU has become a comprehensive and research-intensive university with its main characteristics of basic disciplines in sciences and humanities, teacher education and educational science.
According to 2020 QS World University Rankings, BNU is ranked the 277th among the world universities, and the 10th among Chinese mainland universities. In 2017, BNU has been listed in the “world-class universities”, and 11 disciplines have been selected for China’s “Double-First Class” Initiative. The disciplines of Education, Psychology, Chinese language and literature, Chinese history, Theater film & television，Geography graded A+ in the recent national evaluation.
At present, the university has established cooperative ties with about 500 universities and international organizations from more than 30 countries and regions. Each year, above 900 international professors and scholars are invited to lecture and research at the University. And BNU has around 2000 long-term international students, the scale of which ranks among top in China’s universities.

Qualification
1.Applicants should be in good health and of good character, respect Chinese habits and customs and be willing to abide by both Chinese Law & Regulations as well as the university's Rules & Regulations.
2.Applicants should be non-Chinese citizens holding a foreign passport and under 50 years old.
3.Applicants for Master’s Degrees should have a degree equivalent (or above) to a Bachelor’s degree.
4.Applicants from non-English speaking countries should submit proof of English language proficiency.
Application Materials
1.The Photocopy of Passport (photo page and China visa page).
2.Official transcripts, graduation certificate or degree diploma of your undergraduate program. The documents must be original or authenticated/notarized copies, either in Chinese or English.
3.Official academic transcript of undergraduate study written in English or Chinese sealed with official stamps.
4.Applicants from non-English speaking countries should submit proof of English language proficiency. There is no need to submit English proficiency if applicants received their last degree from English-speaking countries, and the language of instruction and assessment was in English.
5.Personal statement.
6.Two recommendation letters from two associate professors or scholars with higher academic titles, or a senior expert in a related field. (There is no specified format for the recommendation letters, please specify the name of the referee and contact information, all letters must be signed by the referee).
7.The original Statement of Guarantee.
8.Academic papers, patents, or other academic achievements, CV/Resume (Optional).
9.Physical exam report within 6 months.
10.Non-criminal record certificate.
11.Other documents required by university.
